In 2020 alone, over 5500 motorcycle accidents resulted in death. The month of May is declared Motorcycle Awareness Month. Spring is here, and we will see more and more of our two wheeled friends out enjoying rides on the road. As drivers with 4 wheels or more, we can do our part of staying alert and watching out for our fellow roadsters.
Remember to ALWAYS check your blind spots before making a turn or lane change. Be EXTRA cautious when passing other vehicles. Remember that motorcycles react more quickly than cars in some situations. It helps to keep an eye out when they are not only behind you, but also in front of you.
Night-riding can be dangerous for motorcycles due to visibility being decreased and motorists are at greater risk of being tired or impaired.
Stay in your lane. Make sure you are keeping your eyes on the road and not swerving by mistake.
USE YOUR BLINKER! This informs motorcyclists and other drivers that you have the intention of turning or switching lanes.
Intersections are danger zones. Green means GO and make sure to wait your turn at STOP signs to ensure safe crossing for all.
Most importantly, DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE.
Hog riders are people too! We here at ManFront United want everyone to drive and get home safely!
